Viime perjantaina olin valokuvaamassa hieman erilaista tapahtumaa, Polar Bear Pitching. Kyseessä on siis tapahtuma, jossa rahoitusta hakevat startup yritykset pitävät myyntipuheensa avannosta. Tapahtuman avasi Oulun kaupunginjohtaja Matti Pennanen, jonka jälkeen Oulun sinfoniaorkesterin Jari Suomalainen soitti avannosta viululla Finlandian. Kuvia tapahtumasta alla.
A bit different assignment this time – Polar Bear Pitching. The event description at their site says it all:
No mumbo-jumbo, only the essence. The pitches in our arctic extreme event will cut to the chase! This unparalleled pitching competition offers literally the coolest stage on the globe for the start-ups; a hole cut through the ice! The start-ups get to pitch as long as they can in freezing cold water while they are being filmed and broadcast via social media to the widest audiences all over the world.
The event open speech was given by the Mayor of Oulu Matti Pennanen and after that Finlandia was played with violin from the hole in the ice by Jari Suomalainen, Oulu Symphony Orchestra. Some event photos below.
